The Information Systems Assistant provides essential operational and administrative support to ensure the accurate and timely execution of daily electronic banking processes. This position performs defined data transfer and system processing tasks, supporting ACH, check processing, and other core system operations. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to defined procedures, and consistent communication with internal departments to maintain accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Upload and process ACH files from the network to the core system using designated file transfer software and menu options, verifying file totals for accuracy prior to completion.
  • Memopost ACH files to update customer account balances following established procedures.
  • Process ACH origination files multiple times daily, ensuring timely and accurate transmission.
  • Download and archive processed files and related reports to designated network folders.
  • Retrieve and transmit check files, validating totals and communicating confirmations to internal departments.
  • Maintain process logs and verify completion of all daily operational tasks as assigned.
  • Perform routine data entry, recordkeeping, and task verification.
  • Communicate promptly with business units regarding file status, exceptions, and completion confirmations.
  • Assist with miscellaneous daily core processing and other business tasks.
  • Uphold confidentiality and security requirements for customer and bank information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required; Associate’s degree, vocational training or coursework in information systems, business administration, or related field, preferred.
  • Prior experience in banking operations, information systems or technical administrative support roles, preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Familiarity with file transfer utilities, network folders, and secure data handling practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, customer-service mindset, and ability to follow structured procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining reliability and accountability.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and security requirements.
