What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Clinical Operations position at Stride Autism Centers?
The Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) is a mission-driven regional leader responsible for the clinical and operational performance of ABA clinics in an assigned region. Reporting to the CCO, the DCO drives service excellence, develops local leaders, and ensures meaningful outcomes for clients and families. This hybrid leadership role oversees Senior Clinic Directors and involves regular travel for clinic visits and support.

- Do What’s Right: Establish, implement, and rigorously audit best-practice clinical standards across all aspects of ABA treatment and care, from assessment and treatment planning to intervention, progress analysis, and discharge. Ensure fidelity to the Stride clinical model. Implement robust audit systems to ensure quality assurance, adherence to clinical standards, and compliance with payor requirements.

Ensure all clinical services are delivered in alignment with established clinical programs and best practices, driving consistent and high-quality care.

Core Responsibilities
Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA)
- Leadership: Exemplify Stride’s mission and values as a regional market leader; provide expert clinical consultation and mentorship to BCBAs and clinic leaders.
- Management: Oversee the clinical performance and operational health of all assigned regional clinics, including new clinic launches and onboarding experiences.
- Accountability: Owns the results of Regional clinical and operational performance. Holds internal and external partners accountable for KPIs related to team productivity, center growth, clinician performance, and client experience.
Core Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Quality
- Establish, implement, and audit best-practice clinical standards and ensure fidelity to the Stride clinical model.
- Oversee clinical onboarding for new BCBAs and manage BCBA/RBT care delivery and productivity.
- Provide 1:1 case consultation, treatment plan reviews, and lead regional collaboration meetings.
Operational Excellence
- Own and drive strategies to maintain full client capacity and optimize intake processes for timely access to care.
- Monitor authorization utilization and ensure the timely delivery of recommended clinical services.
- Manage regional location health through KPI monitoring and proactive issue resolution.
Regional Leadership & Team Culture
- Supervise and provide performance feedback to Senior Clinic Directors.
- Monitor family and team satisfaction, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Engage in community outreach to build relationships with schools and referral sources.
Qualifications
- Active BCBA certification for a minimum of 5 years.
- 2 years of experience supervising fieldwork students and mentoring BCBAs.
- Experience with children ages 2–6 and fluency in teaching strategies for preschool clients (e.g., PFA, SBT).
- Strong report writing, case conceptualization, and time-management skills.
- Proven dedication to assent-based care and creating meaningful outcomes.
- Ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Environment: Hybrid leadership role; regular travel required for clinic visits and support.
- Physical: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
