Strickland Law Group, a family owned boutique law firm located in Petaluma, CA is looking to hire an experienced paralegal to temporarily join our Estate Planning practice group while a current paralegal is out on maternity leave. The estimated length of the temporary role is 4-6 months. The prospective team member must have a minimum of 2 years experience as an Estate Planning Paralegal and have experience or knowledge of common estate planning documents. Active Notary Public Commission and prior experience with Clio Case Management System are both strongly preferred.

Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Drafting legal documents including Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, Wills, Durable Power of Attorney documents, Advance Health Care Directives and HIPAA Authorizations, and other estate planning documents including claims forms, change of beneficiary forms, grant deeds, assessor documents, and transactional documents to assist clients with proper trust funding;
- Client interviews and updates;
- Legal research and presentation;
- Communicating with Financial Institutions and Advisors regarding Trust Funding;
- Covering front office when other administrative staff is on break or absent;
- Ensure front office, desk and files are maintained in a tidy and organized manner;
- Organize case files and tasks for ease of use;
- Scheduling client meetings, client phone calls, and client signing appointments;
- Perform clerical duties including filing, photocopying and scanning as needed;
- Prepare legal documents for signings and facilitate signing appointments.
Applicant Requirements
- Proven work experience as an Estate Planning Paralegal, including a minimum of 2 years experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in working with Apple Computers
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. printers, scanners, and computers)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills including desire to maintain a neat and tidy office area and file management
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service and team player attitude
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree and Paralegal Certification
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience with Clio Case Management Software
- Experience with legal drafting software
- Active Notary Public Commission
This is a full-time temporary position, however Strickland Law Group would be amenable to discussing a part-time schedule of 30-32 hours a week.
