Campus Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician
Location: Morristown, NJ

Reports To: Director of Buildings & Grounds
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and hands-on Campus Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician to help maintain the buildings, grounds, and overall appearance of a private school campus in Morristown, New Jersey.
This is a varied, active position for someone who enjoys working with their hands and takes pride in keeping a property safe, functional, clean, and well maintained.
The position combines general building maintenance and minor repairs with landscaping, groundskeeping, seasonal work, and day-to-day campus support.
No two days are exactly the same. One day may involve repairing a door or fixture, setting up a classroom, moving furniture, or assisting with a building maintenance issue. Another may include mowing, trimming, seasonal cleanup, snow removal, or preparing the campus for an event.
The ideal candidate is reliable, proactive, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
Key ResponsibilitiesBuilding Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs
- Address basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical issues within experience and training
- Repair doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, and other building components
- Respond to maintenance requests and assigned work orders
- Assist with HVAC and other building-system monitoring
- Identify and report larger maintenance or repair needs
- Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance
- Support building inspections and corrective maintenance
- Maintain classrooms, offices, common areas, storage spaces, and other campus facilities
Grounds & Exterior Maintenance
- Maintain lawns, landscaped areas, walkways, entrances, parking areas, and outdoor common spaces
- Perform mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and other routine grounds maintenance
- Maintain shrubs, garden beds, and landscaped areas
- Assist with seasonal planting and campus beautification projects
- Remove leaves, debris, trash, and potential hazards
- Help maintain campus signage, pathways, and exterior areas
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional campus appearance
Seasonal & Weather Operations
- Participate in snow and ice removal from walkways, entrances, parking areas, and other campus spaces
- Perform leaf removal and seasonal cleanup
- Assist with storm preparation and post-storm cleanup
- Respond to weather-related campus needs as required
Campus & Event Support
- Set up and break down classrooms, meeting spaces, and event areas
- Move furniture, equipment, tables, chairs, and supplies
- Assist with school events and special programs
- Support custodial and facilities staff when needed
- Assist with deliveries, storage, and general campus operational needs
- Help prepare campus spaces for daily
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
