Duties
- Assess and evaluate athlete injuries using your knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and sports medicine principles
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation programs
- Provide emergency care and first aid, including CPR and basic life support, during training sessions or competitions
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as physicians, physical therapists, and nutritionists to coordinate comprehensive athlete care
- Educate athletes on injury prevention protocols, proper body mechanics, nutrition, and overall wellness strategies
- Maintain accurate records of treatments, progress notes, and injury reports using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
- Conduct health coaching sessions to promote optimal physical performance and lifestyle habits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field from an accredited program
- Certification as a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) or equivalent credential required
- Proven experience working with athletes in a sports medicine or athletic training setting
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and medical terminology relevant to sports injuries
- Ability to perform emergency care procedures including first aid and CPR effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with athletes, coaches, and healthcare teams
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and record keeping
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
