Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for our expanding commercial wood door manufacturing facility in Abbotsford, WI. This is a first shift position with excellent opportunities for continued growth.
Effectively lead the day-to-day manufacturing activities and facilitate written and verbal English and Spanish communication between management and production employees . Ensure that production goals are achieved, while meeting quality standards and maintaining a safe work environment.
Duties
- Supervise and train the manufacturing workforce.
- Facilitate effective communication between management and shop production employees..
- Provide support for recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees.
- Assist with employee orientation, training, and development.
- Contribute to employee evaluations and feedback sessions.
- Ensure that employees understand safe operating procedures.
- Promote a collaborative work environment that welcomes input, ideas, and feedback.
- Proactively support continuous improvement objectives and initiatives.
- Continuously seek opportunities to identify and implement changes to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost.
- Provide leadership and training to employees to ensure standard operating procedures are followed and quality standards are maintained.
- Develop and maintain a cross-training program to create a flexible work force and to ensure proper coverage at all machine centers.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure that all safe work practices are understood and enforced.
- Work closely with Customer Service to understand customer needs.
- Order supplies and raw materials as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills Needed:
- Bilingual English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively coach, counsel, motivate, evaluate, and discipline employees.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Must possess excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead problem solving teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and ability to learn new systems.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality control practices, cost-management, and other techniques for maximizing production efficiency.
- Ability to learn and train others to set up and operate equipment.
