Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, food prep teams, and dishwashers, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and are prepared according to menu specifications.
- Manage inventory control and ordering to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
- Implement and enforce food safety sanitizing procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations at all times.
- Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with precision, ensuring timely delivery and presentation of all food items.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal offerings, ingredient sourcing, and portion control strategies.
- Monitor kitchen operations during shifts, managing workflow, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Experience
- Proven experience in food production within a restaurant or hospitality setting, with a focus on fine dining or catering environments.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience managing culinary teams in fast-paced kitchens.
- Strong background in banquet service, catering operations, and restaurant management.
- Extensive knowledge of food handling practices, inventory management, cost control measures, and food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Hands-on experience with kitchen management systems, menu planning, shift management, and inventory control.
- Familiarity with dietary department protocols and managing dietary restrictions in a hospitality setting.
- Previous roles involving food service management or restaurant experience that showcase leadership skills in managing teams as a chef or kitchen supervisor.
