We are seeking to add an energetic and motivated Field Safety Technician to our safety team. Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Field Safety Technician would be the eyes and ears of the company in the field. The Field Safety Technician will be responsible for providing support to the project management team and field personnel. This position will provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support by maintaining a visible presence to the field by performing site visits, assessments and field safety audits.
- Mentor, coach and implement HSE programs on project sites.
- Review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards to ensure compliance.
- Inform management team members of any new or conflictive matters that could negatively impact the project, client and/or the company’s assets.
- Perform incident and near miss investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure corrective actions are followed up on and completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure personnel are meeting Company’s and client’s safety expectations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to ensure that all expectations are understood and met.
- Handle Health, safety, and environmental data entry and administration
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
- Degree in Safety related field preferred or CSST required
- 2 years of construction safety experience
- Experience in Tank terminals
- Experience with LOTO, confined space, fall protection, fire protection, safety plans and safety audits/inspections
- Experience in multi-site travel
- Must pass background and MVR checks
- Must pass drug screens
- Must possess valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to travel locally and nationwide 75% of the time
- Ability to interface with clients and leadership team members
- Ability to work under supplied air inside of confined spaces
- TWIC card required
