What are the responsibilities and job description for the Molecular Application Specialist position at Streamline Scientific?
As a Molecular Application Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to support both current and potential customers in the setup, installation, training, technical specifications, equipment, and troubleshooting of various real-time PCR instruments and assays. The Molecular Application Specialist will support clients virtually and become a trusted advisor while assisting laboratories that are start-up phases with new assays.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to understand molecular biology experiments while working with internal team members to support laboratories implementing new processes
- Manage multiple project timelines and interact with multiple customers in a week
- Effectively communicate with customers on training, project status, and data analysis
- Exhibit strong professionalism with customers and provide strong customer service
- Interact with customers at all levels including laboratory scientists, laboratory technicians, and laboratory directors,
- Utilize and support various PCR testing platforms
- Analyze data, problem solve, and troubleshoot experiments
- Technical document writing and review
- Potential for travel up to 25%
- Work with senior leadership to ensure goals and objectives are achieved
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- B.S. in Biology or related science field preferred
- 2 years of experience with real-time PCR
- Strong knowledge of real-time PCR platforms
- Extremely organized and deliver final products timely
- Ability to manage additional tasks as assigned
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
