General Laborer/Grass Cutter

Strawberry Ridge Golf Course is seeking a hardworking and dependable General Laborer to join our grounds maintenance team. This role is essential to maintaining the "pristine" playing conditions our golfers expect. You will be responsible for the daily manicuring of the course, including mowing, trimming, and general landscape upkeep. Key Responsibilities

• Turf Maintenance: Operate various types of mowing equipment (walk-behind and riding mowers) to maintain greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
• Detailed Trimming: Use string trimmers and edgers around trees, bunkers, cart paths, and water hazards.
• Bunker Care: Rake sand bunkers by hand or with a mechanical rake to ensure a smooth, playable surface; edge and remove weeds from bunkers.
• Course Setup: Assist with daily setup tasks such as changing cup locations, moving tee markers, and maintaining ball washers.
• Debris Removal: Clear the course of fallen branches, leaves, and trash using blowers, rakes, and utility vehicles.
• Equipment Care: Clean and perform basic checks on equipment (fuel, oil, air filters) after each use; report any mechanical issues to the supervisor.
• General Landscaping: Help with planting flowers, mulching, and minor irrigation repairs as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience in landscaping or golf course maintenance is a plus, but we are willing to train candidates with a strong work ethic.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods (lifting up to 50 lbs, walking long distances, and frequent bending/stooping).
• Outdoor Work: Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, humidity, light rain) and starting early in the morning.
• Dependability: Punctuality is critical. Maintenance often begins at sunrise to stay ahead of the golfers.
• Drivers License: A valid driver’s license is preferred for operating utility vehicles on the property.
