THE SEARCH:
StraussGroup Executive Search is partnering with a privately held, family-owned flexible packaging manufacturer in Western New York to find their next Director of Sales & Customer Experience. This is a newly created leadership seat designed to take a key commercial seat off the President's plate as the company continues a multi-year growth trajectory.
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
A stable, growing, technology-forward manufacturer with approximately 130 employees, serving manufacturers and co-packers across food, pet food, health and wellness, supplement, and consumer products markets. SQF certified. EOS-driven leadership team. Multi-generational ownership with a long-term mindset and zero appetite for short-term cost-cutting.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
• Lead a team of 8: two outside sales reps, four customer service team members, and two production art employees
• Design the plan for new business growth and execute it with the sales team
• Cultivate and deepen relationships with the existing customer base
• Build and refine the customer service function
• Partner with operations to drive measurable improvement in on-time delivery
• Contribute to 1-year and 3-year strategic plans as a peer member of the Leadership Team, reporting to the VP of Operations (Integrator)
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• 5 years of progressive sales and/or customer experience leadership, including direct people management
• Demonstrated success developing, coaching, and retaining commercial talent
• Experience in flexible packaging, converting, printing, or related B2B manufacturing strongly preferred
• Comfort being a leader on a team that includes individual contributors who may out-earn the role
• Player-coach who leads through cultivation rather than command
• EOS experience is a plus
COMPENSATION:
• Base salary: $125,000 to $150,000
• Annual performance bonus
• Profit sharing with vesting
• Full benefits package
• On-site role in Western New York, five days per week
