The Opportunity
The Business Banking Relationship Manager serves as the main point of contact and financial advisor to business clients of the bank. The goal is to expand client relationships by introducing a full range of core business banking products, differentiated capabilities and comprehensive solutions to meet client needs and exceed customer service expectations. This role focuses on acquiring new relationships and managing and growing existing client relationships. The individual will be expected to demonstrate strong risk management acumen, including credit, operational and compliance risks.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities of the role include:
- Serve as the trusted financial advisor and business partner to clients, functioning as the subject matter expert and primary contact for most client-related matters
- Drive focused growth and business development by creating and maintaining a clear and holistic understanding of the client's or prospect's business and industry trends
- Provide and educate the client on the bank’s capabilities and how additional products services can help impact their business, including cash management, payments, equipment finance and wealth management
- Maintain an active prospecting effort, including identification, qualification and calling while developing an active Center of Influence (COI) referral network
- Lead and participate in credit processes and assume ultimate accountability for all portfolio activities/issues ensuring sound asset quality, including underwriting, structuring, and portfolio management activities
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in training and experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years of small business/commercial lending experience
- Demonstrated ability to cross-sell products and services
- Proactive approach to business development to acquire new client relationships
- Strong financial acumen including the ability to analyze financial statements and understand the underwriting process and adhere to guidelines
- Exceptional sales, negotiating and closing skills
At this time, the good faith estimate of the annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 PLUS a variable incentive program. Where a successful applicant is slotted within the base salary range will vary based on legitimate criteria, such as years of experience and skill level.
