What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Assistant position at Straus Family Creamery?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Ensure accuracy and timely processing of customer orders and the receiving of product from various suppliers
• Accurately review all Purchase Orders (PO ), Bills of Lading (BOL) and Work Orders
• Assist with loading and unloading of trucks for all deliveries and shipments
• Assist in the regular maintenance of the cycle count program and accurate counting of finished product
• Assist in protecting the finished goods inventory assets of the Company and protect against product loss
• Assist in ensuring that the warehouse, equipment, shipping and receiving, refrigerated and freezer areas are kept clean and free of hazards
• Complete data entry reports, as needed or required
• Safely operate forklifts, electric and manual pallet jacks, and REACH lift
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Safety rules and any/all established processes and policies, whether established by their manager, by the company or by law
• Participate in weekly team meetings, biweekly huddles, safety meetings and other Company meetings, as requested
• Ensure work is produced in the most sustainable manner
• Maintain excellent attendance and have good work ethic
• Scheduling flexibility – to work different shifts when required and to work weekends to support operation of a 24/7 facility
• Other duties as requested
Full-time/Hourly (Hours: Swing Shift Sun -Thu 1:00pm to 9:30pm)

Education and Experience:
• Previous warehouse and material handling experience in a food processing facility, preferred
• Experience operating varied warehouse equipment, i.e., power and manual pallet jacks, electric and propane forklifts, shrink wrapper, REACH lift, baler
• Basic computer experience, required
• Prior experience using an ERP (Navision) software, preferred
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
• Basic comprehension of math as needed for accurate inventory counting and calculations
• Good interpersonal and communication skills required to work with customers, vendors, and peers
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, be resourceful and creative, and problem solve with sometimes limited direction
• Ability to calmly respond to equipment or other problems and find solutions
• Strong listening skills and a strong attention to detail
• Able to maintain a positive working environment and perform with a high level of professionalism
Physical Requirement:
• Ability to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
• Extended periods of standing, squatting, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and stooping, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, hands, and fingers. – Repetitive at times.
• The ability to climb and balance is essential
• Ability to withstand temperatures ranging from -20° to 100° Fahrenheit
• Ability to work in cold, wet, humid environments
• Ability to work in high allergen environments
• Ability to withstand noise produced by manufacturing and warehouse machinery up to 90 decibels
• Ability to lift, hold and/or carry 55 pounds, unassisted
• Ability to work on a computer and look at a computer screen for short periods of time
