Primary Essential Functions
- Assist in preparing technical drawings, reports, and specifications for water/wastewater systems.
- Support calculations for pipelines, pumping systems, and treatment facilities.
- Conduct research and data collection on environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in field visits, inspections, or data gathering as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers on ongoing projects.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues including cross-functional teams, peers, direct reports, and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Adapt to changing business needs and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in taking on new responsibilities and adjusting to evolving challenges.
Knowledge
- Foundational understanding of water/wastewater engineering principles.
- Awareness of treatment systems, hydraulics, and environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or modeling software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical writing.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to real-world challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to adapt to changing project needs.
Required
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering or related field.
- Solid academic performance in water/wastewater coursework.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or related tools.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in water/wastewater projects.
- Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, WaterGEMS , etc.).
- Involvement in environmental or engineering student organizations.
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
- Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers.
- Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to 25 lbs.).
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
