The Role
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting more complex finance functions within the firm’s Financial Planning & Analysis team. This position builds upon the foundational skills of a Financial Analyst, with increased responsibility for reporting, analyzing, and modeling initiatives. The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reports, supporting critical financial decisions, and enhancing efficiency in transactional workflows across the architecture and engineering firm’s multi-entity operations.

The Role
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting more complex finance functions within the firm’s Financial Planning & Analysis team. This position builds upon the foundational skills of a Financial Analyst, with increased responsibility for reporting, analyzing, and modeling initiatives. The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reports, supporting critical financial decisions, and enhancing efficiency in transactional workflows across the architecture and engineering firm’s multi-entity operations.
Responsibilities
- Be able to understand and maintain a 3-statement financial model
- Be able to understand and maintain a working capital model
- Be able to understand and maintain a 13-week cash forecast
- Generate and distribute routine financial reports for internal stakeholders
- Support project and departmental teams with financial inquiries and data analysis
- Partner with project managers and operational leaders to monitor financial performance, identify risks or margin issues, and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on budget and on schedule
- Contribute to process improvement and automation efforts by identifying efficiencies in financial workflows
- Oversee project-level components of month-end and quarter-end close, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and consolidated project reporting for review by the Director of Operational Finance
- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support the VP Finance and finance leadership in evaluating project profitability and operational efficiency
- Be able to maintain and enhance all Power BI dashboards and reporting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Shared Services, HR, and Operations to ensure seamless financial integration and alignment across functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience
- 4-6 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- 2 years of experience working in Power BI dashboards
- Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills
- Engineering, Construction, Design Engineering experience required
- Experience in a professional services or project-based organization
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, acquisition-heavy environment
- Exposure to Deltek Vision or similar ERP systems
- Prior involvement in process improvement or financial system projects
