The designer works both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, under moderate supervision, while capable of mentoring junior staff.
Primary Essential Functions
- Participate in the conceptual and schematic design process, contributing creative ideas, space planning, and material selection.
- Develop design presentations including mood boards, renderings, finish palettes, and graphic narratives.
- Prepare detailed furniture layouts, finish plans, and interior elevations.
- Assist in maintaining design intent throughout documentation and construction.
- Produce accurate, coordinated, and detailed drawings using Revit or AutoCAD.
- Prepare finish schedules, specifications, and product documentation.
- Coordinate with architectural and engineering teams to ensure design integration.
- Review and redline drawings for quality control and consistency.
- Research and evaluate materials, furnishings, and lighting for performance, sustainability, and budget alignment.
- Prepare and coordinate FF&E packages, including procurement documentation when applicable.
- Understand building codes, ADA requirements, and relevant interior design standards.
- Contribute to cost estimating and value-engineering discussions.
- Accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Responsiveness to internal and external coordination.
- Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Contribution to project design quality and client satisfaction.
- Engagement in firm culture and mentorship of junior staff.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s degree in Interior Design .
- 5 years of experience in interior design with a proven track record of successful project management.
- Software proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office; SketchUp and Bluebeam preferred.
- Strong understanding of space planning, construction detailing, materials, codes, and FF&E.
- Photoshop ( editing) and InDesign (presentations .)
- Working towards NCIDQ Certificate
- LEED accreditation or similar sustainable design certification.
- Experience in a specific design sector (e.g., commercial, hospitality).
