Primary Essential Functions
- Assist in preparing architectural drawings, renderings, and presentations.
- Support development of construction documents, specifications, and design details.
- Conduct research on building codes, materials, and sustainability practices.
- Participate in site visits, surveys, and field verification activities.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project staff on multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues including cross-functional teams, peers, direct reports, and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Adapt to changing business needs and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in taking on new responsibilities and adjusting to evolving challenges.
Knowledge
- Basic understanding of architectural design principles and building systems.
- Awareness of building codes, sustainability standards, and construction documentation.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or design visualization software.
- Strong creative and design-thinking skills.
- Effective drafting, visualization, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design tools.
- Ability to translate design concepts into drawings and presentations.
- Ability to learn and apply architectural standards and practices.
- Ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams.
Required
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Architecture.
- Completion of relevant design studio coursework.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit.
- Prior internship or studio experience with design firms.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and rendering software (SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, etc.).
- Involvement in AIAS or other architectural student organizations.
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
- Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers.
- Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to 25 lbs.).
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
