Aircraft Engine Shop Technician

Brunswick, Maine


 Key Responsibilities

  • Perform disassembly, inspection, cleaning, repair, assembly, and testing of commercial aircraft engines and engine components.
  • Work from OEM maintenance manuals, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Engine Maintenance Manuals (EMMs), engineering instructions, service bulletins, and other approved technical data.
  • Inspect engine components for wear, damage, corrosion, cracks, defects, and other conditions affecting serviceability.
  • Perform inspections using precision measuring equipment and appropriate inspection techniques.
  • Identify and document discrepancies in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform component repairs and replacements within the technician's authorization and qualification level.
  • Assist with engine module and subassembly work, including removal and installation of components.
  • Properly identify, track, and document parts and serialized components throughout the repair process.
  • Complete maintenance records, inspection documentation, work orders, and electronic maintenance records accurately and completely.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and specialized engine shop tooling safely and correctly.
  • Maintain tooling, equipment, work areas, and engine shop facilities in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow all applicable FAA regulations, company procedures, OSHA requirements, OEM instructions, and quality standards.
  • Support engine troubleshooting and fault isolation as required.
  • Assist with receiving, preservation, packaging, and shipment of engines and components when required.
  • Maintain strict Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) prevention and tool-control practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and turnaround time.
  • Perform other duties related to engine shop operations as assigned.


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in an aircraft engine, component, MRO, airline, or aviation maintenance environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely use common hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to accurately complete maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work in a physically demanding shop environment.

Preferred:

  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
  • Experience with commercial turbofan engines.
  • Experience with engine module or component overhaul.
  • Experience with CFM56, V2500 or similar commercial engines.
  • Previous experience in an FAA Part 145 repair station.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and repair station procedures.
