Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems.
- Support IT team in daily operational tasks, including system updates and network management.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new IT solutions and projects.
- Provide technical support to staff and clients with IT-related issues.
- Participate in the documentation of IT procedures and processes.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies to support IT initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members on various IT projects and tasks.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in:
- Information Technology
- Computer Science
- Information Systems
- Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related field
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and operating systems (Windows required; Linux a plus)
- Familiarity with common IT concepts such as:
- User accounts and permissions
- Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, DHCP – conceptual level)
- Software installation and troubleshooting
- Ability to follow written procedures and document work clearly
- Strong customer service mindset and professional communication skills
- Reliable attendance and willingness to learn in a structured IT environment
- Hands-on experience from:
- Coursework labs
- Personal/home lab projects
- Previous internship, help desk, or technical support role
- Exposure to one or more of the following:
- Active Directory or Azure AD (basic user/group concepts)
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration
- Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, VirtualBox)
- Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
- Understanding of IT security basics (passwords, MFA, patching, least privilege)
- Enrollment in or interest in certifications such as:
- CompTIA A
- Network
- Security
- Microsoft Fundamentals
- Schedule: Full-time during the summer months
- Location: On-site or hybrid depending on department
