What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Electrical Engineer position at Strativ Group?
Are you ready to build the future of aviation?
Neon Aero is a next-generation aerospace supplier pushing the boundaries of flight by disrupting traditional, slow-moving supply chains with rapid innovation. We unite electrical, software, and mechanical expertise alongside AI-driven design to develop, test, and fabricate some of the industry’s lightest, most advanced propellers, rotors, and actuators.
We are looking for a hands-on, highly collaborative engineer who thrives at the intersection of architecture and execution. In this role, you will lead the design and integration of complex electrical and electromechanical systems that power next-generation products, spanning actuator drives, power electronics, avionics, communications, energy management, and other high-performance technologies.
If you can translate complex requirements into robust, manufacturable, certifiable hardware and drive it from concept to production release, we want you on our team.
Why This Role Matters
You’ll serve as a technical anchor for our production-intent electrical hardware, enabling our team to move at startup speed without sacrificing reliability, safety, or manufacturability. Your work will directly support demanding systems across aerospace, transportation, robotics, and advanced mobility.
What You’ll Do (Key Contributions)
- Lead & Architect: Own system architecture and integration across complex, multi-domain programs and electrical subsystems from concept to production release.
- Design & Develop: Build power electronics, embedded digital, and mixed-signal hardware using industry-standard ECAD tools (Altium, Cadence, or equivalent).
- Design for Excellence: Drive DFM, DFT, DFC, and DFA decisions early to ensure designs scale cleanly into manufacturing.
- Schematic & PCB Layout: Create robust schematics and guide PCB layout with strong signal integrity and EMI/EMC discipline.
- Avionics Communication: Architect and implement fault-tolerant communication bus physical layers (CAN and other aviation buses) for certifiable data communication.
- Validate & Test: Define comprehensive test strategies (ICT, functional test coverage, ESS, production yield metrics) and lead lab bring-up, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations.
- Analyze & Simulate: Perform electrical analysis, including SPICE simulation, power-stage evaluation, thermal interactions, and EMI mitigation.
- Collaborate: Partner closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to support prototype builds, first-article inspections, and production ramps.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 8 years of proven experience developing, shipping, and taking complex electronic hardware assemblies into production.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related field); equivalent professional experience is also highly valued.
- ECAD Mastery: Strong proficiency with Altium Designer (or comparable ECAD tools).
- Technical Depth: Deep understanding of schematic capture, PCB layout practices, stack-up definition, grounding strategy, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
- Domain Versatility: Hands-on experience across power electronics/motor drives, embedded microcontroller-based systems, sensor interfacing, and communication physical layers (CAN, RS-485, ARINC, etc.).
Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
