What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator / Laborer position at Stratham Public Works Department?
The Town of Stratham is accepting applications for a full-time Operator/Laborer to support Public Works operations, including roadway maintenance, seasonal operations including winter plowing, parks and grounds, cemetery services, transfer station operations, and general maintenance of Town-owned property. This position involves physically demanding work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and includes emergency and on-call response.
General Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, roadway and drainage maintenance, operation of light and heavy equipment, snow plowing and ice control, grounds and cemetery maintenance, minor building and equipment repairs, transfer station operations, traffic control, and emergency response. Overtime and on-call work are required as operational needs dictate.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver’s license required
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in all weather conditions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
