The Donor Relations & Marketing Coordinator works closely in support of our Communications & Development team to assist in the creation and execution of marketing campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and social media coordination.

Organization Description

Strategies to End Homelessness (STEH) is a nationally recognized leader of a coordinated community effort to end homelessness in Greater Cincinnati. Since 2007, STEH has led a comprehensive system of care to prevent and eventually end homelessness in Cincinnati/Hamilton County. Working in partnership with 30 non-profit organizations, STEH coordinates a centralized emergency shelter helpline, homelessness prevention, street outreach, emergency shelter and housing solutions with the goal of ending homelessness. 

Position Overview

As the Donor Relations & Marketing Coordinator, reporting to the Donor Relations & Grants Manager, you will work closely in support of our Communications & Development team to assist in the creation and execution of marketing campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and social media coordination. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn and grow within the nonprofit sector, with a focus on making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness and at risk of and experiencing homelessness. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Fundraising Support: 

  • Manage CRM – Bloomerang, including data entry, constituent record updates, and gift processing. 
  • Maintain data integrity and perform regular data clean-up and audits.
  • Process and acknowledge gifts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance Department to log ACH gifts and to reconcile with financials monthly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor records.
  • Generate reports for campaigns, appeals, and gift acknowledgments.
  • Stay current on Bloomerang updates and recommend improvements for database efficiency.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and executing fundraising campaigns.
  • Help with creating promotional materials for fundraising activities, including newsletters, brochures, and email campaigns. Track and report on the success of fundraising initiatives.


Social Media Support: 

  • Help create and schedule social media content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to engage followers and raise awareness about homelessness and the organization’s impact.
  • Monitor social media accounts for comments, messages, and mentions, responding in a timely and positive manner.
  • Assist in creating social media strategies to grow engagement.
  • Analyze social media insights and provide reports on content performance to improve efforts.

Content Creation & Communication: 

  • Assist in writing blog posts, newsletters, and other content to highlight success stories, and organizational updates.
  • Maintain communications records (i.e. Email Marketing Results).
  • With guidance, contribute to the creation of content that resonates with potential donors and community supporters.
  1. Administrative & Team Support: 
  • Assist with general administrative tasks related to fundraising and marketing projects.
  • Collaborate with team members on various projects and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
  • Attend team meetings and provide updates on ongoing projects.


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Social Media, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in marketing, fundraising, or nonprofit work is a plus but not required.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and social media marketing techniques. Experience with Buffer a plus.
  • Experience with basic graphic design tools (Canva) for creating social media content and marketing materials.
  • Experience with fundraising software and CRMs.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Word and Excel) and familiarity with Google Suite.
  • Basic understanding of AI, familiarity with AI tools, their use, and the ethical implications of AI.
