Strategic Threat Management, Inc. (STM), Northern California’s premier security services provider, is looking for a full-time Field Supervisor to oversee subordinate security personnel and assist with maintaining client relations. The Field Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager.

We are looking for an individual who has supervisory experience, works well with others, and has the ability to mentor and motivate subordinate security officers to promote and maintain a positive work environment. This individual must be self-motivated and must maintain a high level of initiative, commitment and dedication to the company and the team. Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision. Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

This Field Supervisor must be flexible and willing to work varying shifts, weekends, and fill in as a relief officer in the event a post cannot be filled.

Non-exempt / Full-time / $35 to $36 per hour DOE

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Supervise field operations
  • Communicate with STM security personnel on a regular basis
  • Conduct regular site visits and post checks
  • Must be able to work varying shifts; days, swings, and overnights
  • Must be able to work weekends and extended hours as needed
  • Train and familiarize employees with STM general orders and site post orders to ensure they are knowledgeable of and understand the company and client expectations of each assigned worksite
  • Monitor security officer activity to ensure they are familiar with, and are adhering to STM policies, procedures, post orders
  • Monitor on-site employee performance and provide performance feedback and corrective plan to employees
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts with tact and diplomacy, without prejudice or bias
  • Conduct site inspections during all shifts to ensure security officers are conducting themselves professionally and carrying out their duties as required and report any issues of concern or policy violations to the Operations Manager immediately
  • Mentor and assist security officers in a positive manner
  • Works with the Operations Team to determine employee training needs and requests and provides ongoing formal and informal training and guidance to officers as needed.
  • Ensure security personnel are in compliance with all State requirements and are carrying valid and required permits while on duty
  • Track and maintain security officer training provided and submit timely written documentation of all training to the Operations Manager and Human Resources
  • Stay abreast of current applicable legal and company requirements
  • Any verbal or written disciplinary actions taken or recommendations suggested must be submitted to the Operations Manager and Human Resources in a timely manner
  • Initiate Progressive Discipline, as recommended by management, when needed and work closely with the Operations Team to determine the correct course of action(s) to take in a timely manner
  • When directed to assist with conducting employee investigations, all facts gathered, policy violations discovered and any recommendations must be submitted in writing to management immediately
  • Update and maintain STM site information; post orders, parking policy updates, house rules, sign in sheets, current pass down information, etc.
  • Attend client and business-related functions as needed
  • Assume Watch Commander duties as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

  • Knowledge of penal codes and state laws pertaining to security industry
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications

Education:
High School Diploma or GED

Required:

  • Please note that you MUST have a current BSIS Guard Card and firearm permit
  • BSIS Baton Permit
  • Chemical Agent Certificate
  • Valid driver license

Experience (1 or more of the following):

1 to 2 years security experience or prior military or law enforcement
Supervisory or management experience required
1-year full time STM experience is desirable
Experience in conducting employee investigations is desirable
