A rapidly growing, U.S.-based manufacturer of engineered, built-to-spec equipment is seeking a Director of Customer Accounts to lead its Account Management and Sales Support organization. Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of Customer Solutions, this leader will oversee Account Management and Sales Support, bringing clarity, accountability, and rigor to the sales process. You will coach and build a talented team, strengthen customer relationships, and drive improvements in forecasting, CRM usage, metrics, and cross-functional collaboration.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in central Minnesota (Alexandria area) with up to 20% travel. Relocation assistance is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Account Management and Support team
- Introduce structure, KPIs, and process improvements
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
Customer Relations & Account Management
- Build and maintain relationships across strategic accounts
- Provide support on complex deals, escalations, and key presentations
- Ensure customer satisfaction across the lifecycle of engineered-to-order projects
- Support pricing, contracts, and financial analysis in partnership with internal stakeholders
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and execute customer account plans aligned with business goals
- Drive accurate sales forecasting and pipeline discipline
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Product Strategy, and Finance
- Strengthen commercial reporting, data integrity, and CRM utilization
Industry Engagement & Representation
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences
- Stay current on industry trends, product knowledge, and customer needs
Skills and Experience:
- 7 years in sales leadership, account management, or business development
- Experience with engineered or technical B2B products (engineered-to-order a plus)
- Strong CRM/ERP aptitude and experience improving sales processes and metrics
- Demonstrated success leading teams through change
- Exceptional communication, customer relationship, and cross-functional leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
Compensation & Benefits:
Our client offers a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience, including participation in their Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Target base salary is $150,000-160,000 performance-based bonus opportunity.
