Key Responsibilities
•Lead and develop a team of manufacturing engineers (currently 4 direct reports, with planned growth)
•Oversee engineering support across:
O Foundry operations (critical focus)
O Machining operations (critical focus)
O Assembly operations (secondary focus)
•Own capital expenditure (CapEx) planning, justification, and execution
•Drive operational improvements, particularly machining efficiency and OEE performance
•Partner cross-functionally to resolve technical and production challenges
•Support product industrialization and manufacturability initiatives
•Manage tooling, equipment design, and procurement
•Ensure accurate engineering documentation (SOPs, work instructions, change management)
•Promote safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and internal standards
•Capture and transfer institutional knowledge from a highly tenured workforce
•Help build and formalize training systems for engineering and operations.
Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Engineering Manager oversees engineering activities across foundry, machining, and assembly operations. This role is responsible for leading a team of engineers, managing capital projects, and driving productivity improvements aligned with operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead and mentor a team of engineers supporting foundry, machining, and assembly operations
•Oversee capital project planning, budgeting, and execution
•Develop and implement improvement initiatives to meet productivity, quality, and cost targets
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations and resolve technical issues
•Ensure timely and accurate documentation of engineering changes, SOPs, and work instructions
•Manage tooling and equipment design and procurement
•Support product industrialization and manufacturability assessments
•Promote safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable standards
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
•7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
•Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering capital and improvement projects
•Experience in foundry, machining, and assembly operations
•Proficiency in 3D CAD software and manufacturing documentation
•Knowledge of metallurgy and material properties, particularly in casting and machining
•Excellent communication and leadership skills
•Experience with MES systems is a plus
Work Location
This is an onsite position, Monday through Friday, at a manufacturing facility. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs.
