Strategic Staffing Solutions costumer is looking for an experienced Senior Network Platform Engineer to join their global Infrastructure Platforms team. In this role, you will own the engineering, architecture, and lifecycle management of enterprise network platforms across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, data center, and hybrid cloud environments.
You will serve as the technical expert for our global Cisco Meraki platform, driving network standards, secure-by-design architectures, automation, and large-scale infrastructure initiatives. Working closely with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Operations, and Site IT teams, you will ensure our network platforms remain scalable, resilient, and ready to support global business growth and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and maintain enterprise-grade network platforms across LAN, wireless, WAN, SD-WAN, data center, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Own the global Cisco Meraki platform, including standards, configuration templates, firewall policies, SD-WAN architecture, firmware strategy, and deployment models.
- Develop and maintain network reference architectures, engineering standards, and implementation best practices.
- Design and deploy network infrastructure for new and existing sites, including IDF/MDF standards, redundant WAN connectivity, industrial wireless (where applicable), and SD-WAN solutions.
- Create repeatable deployment playbooks and standardized rollout processes for global site implementations.
- Define and enforce global standards for network hardware, software, firmware, configurations, and architecture.
- Lead hardware lifecycle management, including End-of-Life (EOL), End-of-Support (EOS), refresh planning, upgrades, and technical debt reduction.
- Engineer secure-by-design network solutions in partnership with Cybersecurity, including segmentation, Zero Trust principles, vulnerability management, and compliance support.
- Design resilient, highly available network architectures that support business-critical and manufacturing environments.
- Drive network automation using APIs, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code to simplify provisioning, compliance validation, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Improve network observability through monitoring, logging, performance metrics, and continuous optimization.
- Provide Tier 3 engineering support for complex infrastructure issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term platform improvements.
- Mentor network engineers and provide technical leadership across engineering initiatives.
- Lead technical planning and execution for new site deployments, global expansions, acquisitions, and major infrastructure upgrades.
- Collaborate with vendors, implementation partners, Site IT, Operations, and Infrastructure teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Cisco Meraki
- SD-WAN
- Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
- Enterprise Wireless
- Firewalls and Network Security
- WAN technologies
- Experience designing and supporting highly available, resilient enterprise network infrastructures.
- Experience supporting multi-site global environments, ideally including manufacturing locations.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, engineering standards, and technical documentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with an engineering-first approach.
- Experience working within a platform engineering model with clear separation between engineering and operations.
Nice to Have
- Experience with hybrid cloud networking (Azure and/or AWS).
- Experience using Cisco Meraki APIs for automation and network management.
- Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, REST APIs) or Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with network automation frameworks and configuration management.
- Knowledge of ITIL and platform/service ownership models.
- Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions, global infrastructure expansion, or large-scale transformation projects.
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams across multiple regions and time zones.
