Job Summary
Strategic Service Solutions is seeking an experienced and dependable Low Voltage and Camera Installation Technician to join our technical services team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low-voltage systems, including CCTV camera systems, access control, network cabling, and related infrastructure.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in complex commercial and industrial environments—such as terminals, ports, and warehouse facilities—and takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality installations that meet Strategic Service Solutions’ performance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, coax, and fiber).
- Mount and configure IP and analog security cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and related network equipment.
- Install and support access control systems, intercoms, and alarm components.
- Perform troubleshooting, service calls, and preventative maintenance on installed systems.
- Conduct on-site surveys to assess infrastructure and assist with project planning.
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and SSS quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and IT specialists to deliver seamless system integrations.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including as-built drawings, service logs, and inventory records.
- Represent Strategic Service Solutions with professionalism and provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience installing or servicing low-voltage and camera systems.
- Knowledge of IP networking, PoE, and video management systems (VMS).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, or terminal environments preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights or outdoors when necessary.
- Must qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Experience with AMAG, Hirsch, exacqVision, Milestone, ONSSI – a plus.
- 100% on-site role.
Preferred Certifications (a plus)
- BICSI Installer or Technician Certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Safety Certification
- CompTIA Network or equivalent networking certification
