Quality Manager

About the Role:

The Quality Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our manufacturing operations meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems. The Quality Manager will lead supplier audits and collaborate with suppliers to enhance their quality processes, ultimately reducing scrap and improving overall product quality. By utilizing statistical process control and value stream mapping, the Quality Manager will identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives that enhance operational performance. The end result of this role is to foster a culture of continuous improvement that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ Certified Quality Manager).
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Familiarity with advanced statistical analysis tools.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement quality management systems in compliance with ISO 9000 standards.
• Conduct supplier audits and collaborate with suppliers to improve their quality processes.
• Utilize statistical process control to monitor and analyze manufacturing operations.
• Lead initiatives for scrap reduction and process improvement through value stream mapping.
• Train and mentor staff on quality standards and best practices to ensure adherence across all operations.

Skills:

The required skills such as Quality Systems and Supplier Quality are essential for establishing and maintaining effective quality management processes. Daily, the Quality Manager will drive quality improvements. Statistical Process Control will be utilized to analyze production data, allowing for informed decision-making and proactive problem-solving. Skills in Supplier Audits will be crucial for assessing and enhancing supplier performance, while Control Plan development will help in standardizing processes. Additionally, expertise in Scrap Reduction and Value Stream Mapping will enable the Quality Manager to identify inefficiencies and implement strategies that optimize manufacturing operations.
