Pay: $27 - $30/hr
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a high-level Operations Support Specialist to support production planning and execution in a fast-paced machine shop environment. Due to my clients explosive growth they are looking for a Operational Support Specialist
This is not a back-office role—you’ll be the bridge between planning and production, ensuring jobs move efficiently, materials are ready, and bottlenecks are eliminated before they become problems.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a critical role in keeping production on track by:
- Building Bills of Materials (BOMs) and defining equipment, labor, and time requirements
- Monitoring production throughput and reporting performance
- Prioritizing jobs to meet customer deadlines and delivery targets
- Working directly with shop floor teams to troubleshoot issues (materials, staffing, machine downtime)
- Partnering with management, engineering, and quality to resolve production challenges
- Supporting purchasing with material forecasting and demand planning
- Leading contract review meetings and driving process improvements
- Managing production documentation in compliance with ISO 9001 standards
- Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of production planning or operations support experience (machine shop or manufacturing preferred)
- Strong communicator who can work across production, engineering, and leadership teams
- Comfortable balancing office planning work with hands-on shop floor interaction
- Proven ability to problem-solve in real time in a fast-moving environment
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central is a plus)
