The LTAC nurse’s primary duties include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing treatments to stabilize patients and manage their conditions over time. LTAC nurses work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, physical therapists, and respiratory therapists, to develop individualized care plans. They assist with wound care, ventilator support, and other ongoing medical interventions. Nurses also play a key role in patient rehabilitation, ensuring that care is focused on improving long-term outcomes and quality of life. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex medical equipment are essential for success in this role.
