Engineer (Advanced) Mission Engineer Job Description

 

JOB TITLE: Engineer (Advanced) Mission Engineer

CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET
LOCATION: Colorado Springs, Colorado

 

 

SUMMARY: SABG is hiring an Engineer Advanced (Mission Engineer) (DW) to support the WOI contract with the Missile Defense Agency.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Essential duties include:

·         Execute exercise and wargame events to include experiments, demonstrations, and/or tabletop event planning.

·         Serve as liaison between internal MDA organizations.

·         Provide daily updates while supporting a JELC event, and post reports for any event within the JELC and Execution.

·         Assist in identifying event risks, provide risk assessments, identify potential mitigation plans.

·         Facilitate after-action reviews (AARs) with participants, collecting feedback and insights to inform future wargame and exercise planning

·         Develop and coordinate Event Execution Reports including key lessons learned; disseminate Event Execution Reports

·         Participate in meetings and provide written feedback (agendas, minutes, summaries, or action items) to facilitate and coordinate wargames and exercises training efforts.

·         Assist with developing and coordinating reports, assessments, reviews, white papers, briefings, support agreements, event calendars, and responses to internal and external Agency taskings associated with missions in this task. 

·         Conduct planning activities in support of exercises and wargames, to include attending planning conferences (MPCs and FPCs, or as directed).

·         Support the development of key deliverables and verification of entry and exit criteria for JELC events; develop applicable documentation.

·         Assist in the setup of facilities and coordination of resources needed to support wargame and exercise execution, including simulation labs, control rooms, communications infrastructure, etc.

·         Support testing phases for exercises and wargames, including but not limited: System Verification Test, Event Verification Test, Event Functional Test, Event Operational Test.

 

SUPERVISION: This position has no supervisory responsibilities

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·         MS in an engineering field or STEM field; 10 years of relevant experience.

·         Relevant Experience Requirements:

·         Experience executing wargames and exercises, developing exercise architectures, verifying operational connections for exercise components

·         Broad knowledge of MDS, components, and system-level topics.

·         Apply Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and system engineering concepts to maximize the use of M&S to support wargames and exercise objectives

·         Capable of establishing and optimizing priorities and managing planning and readiness activities of MDS test events IAW approved wargames and exercises issuances (e.g., CONOPS).

·         Provides expertise in support of scenario development, threat execution, WG&E design, development and execution during all phases of the JELC.

·         Capable of working independently or leading teams to solve planning, integration, execution, and analysis/engineering problems.

·         Capable of providing daily supervision and direction to support teams.

·         Certifications such as CompTIA Security , CISSP, Professional Engineer (PE), may be considered in lieu of experience

·         Experience in lieu of the above requirements will be considered  

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:
 • Experience operating MDA modeling and simulation software or similar
 • Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and database (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations, DoD Directives and US Code. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on data.
