About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to develop, lead, and continuously improve the reliability program at their manufacturing facility in Morristown, Tennessee. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, maintainability, and overall performance of plant equipment, production processes, and facility systems.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about driving operational excellence, reducing downtime, and improving plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the facility’s reliability program to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations
- Partner closely with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified equipment
- Drive initiatives focused on reliability improvement, failure elimination, and asset performance across:
- Production equipment and processes
- Utilities and facility infrastructure
- Controls and safety systems
- Define, design, implement, monitor, and continuously improve maintenance strategies, including:
- Value-added preventive maintenance programs
- Predictive maintenance initiatives
- Non-destructive testing methodologies
- Investigate recurring equipment failures and develop sustainable corrective actions that positively impact:
- Production capacity
- Product quality
- Operating costs
- Regulatory and safety compliance
- Provide technical support to maintenance and production teams during both routine and urgent equipment issues
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the capabilities of the Maintenance team
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment uptime, process reliability, and plant efficiency
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering and equipment-related issues
- Detail-oriented with a strong continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Comfortable working hands-on in the field alongside mechanics and operators
- Ability to respond to urgent and critical equipment issues as needed
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required
- Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred
- 2–4 years of experience in a Reliability Engineer or Reliability Specialist role
- Previous maintenance experience as a Manager, Supervisor, or Technician strongly preferred
- Manufacturing or industrial plant experience highly desirable
