Contract Scientist / Senior Scientist – Cell Biology (Boston, MA)
Our Boston based client is seeking a highly motivated Scientist or Senior Scientist (Contract) to support a cutting-edge drug discovery program. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays, with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and support compound testing in established in vitro cell-based assays
- Maintain and manage multi-day cell culture experiments in plate-based formats
- Troubleshoot experimental challenges and implement practical solutions
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate experimental findings to project teams
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and experimental records
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support evolving research priorities and timelines
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Biology or related discipline with 4 years of relevant experience, or PhD with 0-2 years of experience
- Strong hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays
- Experience maintaining primary cells and/or immortalized cell lines
- Familiarity with laboratory automation platforms and high-throughput workflows
- Experience with common cellular and molecular biology techniques such as ELISA, qPCR, and Western blotting
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow established protocols, and generate reproducible data
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present data effectively to multidisciplinary teams
Preferred
- Prior biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience
- Experience supporting drug discovery or translational research programs
- Familiarity with plate-based assay development and data analysis workflows
