Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Lumber Handler / Forklift Operator to join our yard operations team. The ideal candidate has experience working with lumber, operating forklifts, and maintaining a clean and organized yard.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload lumber and plywood using a forklift or by hand
- Pull, stage, and prepare customer orders accurately
- Inspect and organize lumber inventory
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient yard environment
- Assist with receiving, shipping, and general yard duties
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or similar environment preferred
- Able to tally lumber and convert BFT to LFT
- To recognize different species of lumber
- Identify different grades of lumber
- Valid forklift certification (or willingness to be trained/certified)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Bilingual preferred but not a must
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays as needed)
Compensation:
Competitive hourly pay based on experience, with opportunities for growth and overtime. Benefits available after 90 days.
