Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a visible safety leader with an active field presence (approximately 85% of the workday).
- Build strong relationships across the workforce to reinforce safety policies, regulations, and practices.
- Support training initiatives and provide on-the-spot coaching to address at-risk behaviors or noncompliance.
- Lead or participate in weekly safety committee meetings.
- Conduct routine safety observations and audits to identify potential hazards, error precursors, and improvement opportunities.
- Document findings using EHS Insight and effectively communicate safety performance to site leadership.
- Deliver safety training sessions as assigned to ensure alignment with company EHS programs.
- Investigate all work-related incidents, near misses, and good catches; complete detailed reports and root cause analyses.
- Ensure follow-up on corrective and preventive actions to reduce future risks.
- Recommend enhancements to safety processes, procedures, and jobsite conditions.
- Minimum of five (5) years of Health and Safety Construction experience. Solar experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal codes related to solar construction.
- Proven ability to assess health and safety risks and implement corrective actions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Current OSHA 500 (required).
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Valid Driver’s License (required)
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to effectively interact across all organizational levels and cultures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software (e.g., EHS Insight).
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends when required.
- Ability to walk job sites and perform field inspections in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, wind, precipitation).
- Frequent exposure to elevated noise levels (may exceed 85 dB).
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Regular bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Must have 20/20 vision (corrected or uncorrected) to safely observe jobsite conditions.
