What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hardware & Paint Sales Associate position at Strasser hardware?
Hardware Sales Associate
Strasser Hardware is looking for a motivated, dependable, and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our Paint & Industrial Department.
This position works directly with customers on a wide variety of projects and product needs, including paint, drywall supplies, nuts and bolts, fasteners, general hardware, tools, adhesives, sealants, and other industrial and construction-related products.
Previous paint experience is a plus, but not required. We are looking for someone with strong customer service skills, a willingness to learn, and an interest in building their knowledge of paint, hardware, tools, and industrial products.
While your primary focus will be the Paint & Industrial Department, you will also be cross-trained in other departments throughout the store. This will allow you to assist customers with a wider range of projects, develop stronger overall hardware knowledge, and provide support in other areas when needed.
Important – This Is an Active Sales Floor Position
This is not a desk position. This is an active, hands-on sales floor role in a busy hardware store.
We are looking for someone who stays engaged throughout the day, confidently approaches and assists customers, supports the team, and takes pride in keeping the department clean, organized, stocked, and ready for customers.
The right person for this position should be comfortable being on their feet, moving throughout the department and store, stocking merchandise, helping customers locate products, and taking initiative when something needs to be done.

- Cross-train in other store departments to expand product knowledge and assist customers throughout the store
- Provide coverage and support in other departments when needed
- Work closely with other team members to make sure customers receive the help they need
