Overview
We are seeking a dedicated After-School Literacy Interventionist to deliver targeted, evidence-based reading support to early learners and elementary students in our dynamic after-school program.
In this role, you will facilitate high-impact, small-group interventions designed to strengthen foundational literacy, build phonemic proficiency and orthographic mapping, and boost student confidence in an engaging environment beyond the traditional school day.
Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic and ongoing progress monitoring, delivering explicit, systematic instruction tailored to diverse learning needs, managing small-group dynamics effectively, and collaborating with program leaders to ensure seamless alignment with daytime literacy goals.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field, with proven experience delivering elementary literacy support. Demonstrated training in the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy principles is required, with preferred familiarity or certification in evidence-based programs such as IMSE Orton-Gillingham, UFLI Foundations, or similar explicit phonics and phonological awareness frameworks.
The ideal candidate possesses strong data-driven decision-making skills, a firm grasp of multisensory instructional strategies, and the passion needed to empower struggling readers to achieve lasting academic success.
