Our client, a well-respected, $200M specialty contractor in the Midwest, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Executive to join its leadership team. The VPHR will build and lead a modern HR function aligned with the company’s operational goals and long-term growth strategy. This executive will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, driving workforce planning, succession, leadership development, and performance systems while strengthening the overall HR function.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish workforce planning processes aligned with growth and construction project pipeline
- Implement and optimize a modern HRIS platform
- Lead succession planning for key roles and strengthen management capabilities
- Introduce meaningful HR metrics, dashboards, and reporting
- Ensure compliance within a union-influenced, multi-site environment
- Build structured systems across recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and career development
Candidate Requirements
- 15 years of progressive HR leadership experience
- 5 years HR leadership experience in construction, skilled trades, or other project-driven labor services environment
- Experience modernizing HR infrastructure in growing organizations
- Union experience and HRIS implementation experience preferred
