Our client is a $25-50M manufacturer of custom-made high-end products located in Richmond, VA. Their products are sought out by estate owners, designers, hospitality businesses around the globe, due to their outstanding reputation for made-to-order customization, durable materials, and precise consistent execution.
We are searching for a CFO to join the team as a close strategic partner to the President and Owner. The CFO will help strengthen the financial infrastructure of the business while enabling thoughtful growth and protecting the integrity of a globally respected brand.
Core Responsibilities
- Financial Stewardship / Strategic Leader: oversight of all finance and accounting functions; providing financial insights on key decisions around growth, investments, and long-term opportunities.
- Costing & Margin Accuracy: strengthen costing and margin visibility across product collections, channels, and customization levels.
- Pricing Strategy: Ensure pricing strategy appropriately reflects product complexity, customization requirements, and brand positioning.
- Working capital management: inventory governance, deposit structures, and production cycle financing.
- Capital budgeting: evaluate investment decisions including tooling, machinery, automation, and showroom expansion.
- Implement financial dashboards that provide visibility into backlog, production throughput, labor utilization, and margin performance.
Qualifications
- 15 years' of financial leadership experience in manufacturing environments
- 8 years' of experience in a custom manufacturing, low-volume/high-mix, or engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
- Experience with cost accounting, pricing strategy, and operational finance
- Undergraduate degree in finance and/or accounting
- CPA or MBA preferred but not required
