What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender / Mixologist position at Straits Restaurant Group?
Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interaction while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, bartenders are expected to be attentive to the guests’ needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. Bartender Responsibilities may include: - Greet guests, take beverage orders from the servers or directly from guests. - Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered. - Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol - Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures - Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts - Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests, prepare inventory - Serve snacks or food items to guests seated at the bar where appropriate. - Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions. Prior experience as Bartender, barman, mixologist, bar back is very helpful to the success at this job
Requirements/Responsibilities
Bartender / Mixologist Requirements:
* Previous bartending experience / training
* Excellent oral communication skills
* Positive interpersonal skills – be a good listener
* The ability to multi task and work well in a high volume work environment
* Fluent in English and proficiency in other languages is a plus
* Must have valid or be able obtain a food handler card in first 30 days
Prior experience as Bartender, barman, mixologist, bar back is very helpful to the success at this job
