Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced instructional leader in the role of Assistant Principal as a key member of the administrative team beginning July 1, 2026, for the 2026-2027 academic year.
This leadership role integrates educational administration. It requires a strategic, student-centered leader committed to fostering a positive school climate, supporting instructional excellence, and enhancing student success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong management and collaboration skills, a passion for education, and proven experience working with students and staff to advance overall school excellence in partnership with the principal.
Responsibilities
Build School Climate & Culture
- Promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and academic excellence.
- Address student behavioral and instructional issues.
- Maintain supervisory presence throughout the school day.
Provide Building Leadership
- Supervise and evaluate staff members alongside the Principal.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide instructional support to establish policies, goals, and initiatives that support school mission and vision.
- Facilitate professional development sessions.
- Serve as acting administrator in the Principal's absence.
- Engage in public speaking at school events, and community meetings to promote school achievements and programs.
Support Student
- Monitor attendance data and coordinate intervention strategies.
- Manage student discipline, including suspensions when necessary.
- Participate in IEP meetings and serve as LEA representative.
- Support classroom teachers by providing guidance on instructional practices and student engagement strategies.
- Facilitate student re-entry planning after absences.
Skills
- Proven experience in education administration with a background in teaching and classroom management.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising staff and managing teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and interpersonal skills to engage students, staff, parents, and community stakeholders.
- Strategic planning expertise with the ability to develop long-term goals aligned with school objectives.
- Budgeting experience to oversee financial planning for academic programs and athletic departments.
- Skills in curriculum development to support instructional excellence across disciplines.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds to promote inclusive educational practices.
- Management skills necessary for supervising staff, coordinating activities, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications
Required:
- New Hampshire educator certification (or eligible for certification).
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a certified educator.
- Certified as a building principal OR enrolled in a principal certification program.
Preferred:
- Administrative experience in a public education setting.
Key Competencies
Strong skills in conflict management, de-escalation, communication, and relationship building. Ability to remain calm under pressure, model professional behavior, and maintain confidentiality. Experience with staff evaluation, instructional leadership, and data-based decision making.
Additional Information
Year-round position with annual performance evaluation by the Principal. Requires valid driver's license and use of personal vehicle for work-related travel (mileage reimbursement provided). Background check required by state law.
