Position Summary
The Information Technology Support Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and
supporting the technology infrastructure of the Strafford R-VI School District. This
position provides troubleshooting, device repair, network support, and technical
guidance to ensure staff and students have reliable access to instructional and
operational technology.
Key Responsibilities
? Provide first-line technical support to staff and students in person, by phone, via email
and using our in-house support ticket system.
? Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on Chromebooks, Windows PCs,
MacOS/iOS devices and peripherals.
? Assist with the setup, imaging, and deployment of new technology devices.
? Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues involving Wi-Fi infrastructure,
Ethernet drops, VOIP telephones, VLANs, surveillance cameras, and district printers.
? Perform preventative maintenance, software updates, antivirus checks, and data
backups.
? Maintain accurate documentation of support requests, repairs, and asset inventory.
? Support classroom technology, including interactive panels, document cameras, testing
software and audio systems.
? Collaborate with IT staff to maintain security, compliance, and system reliability.
? Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
? Minimum of 60 college credit hours or equivalent technical training.
? 1 year of experience providing technical support or customer service.
? Knowledge of Chromebook and Windows environments, including hardware and basic
networking.
? Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
? Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative IT team.
? Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Preferred:
? Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
? Experience working in a K–12 or educational technology environment.
? Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education.
? Experience with enterprise networks, including switches, VLANs, and wireless
infrastructure.
