Outdoor Forest School Educator (Associate or Lead)

Job Summary

Duties

• Lead engaging outdoor lessons that incorporate nature exploration, environmental education, and hands-on activities tailored to various age groups
• Ensure the safety of all children by implementing proper supervision, behavior management techniques, and first aid protocols
• Develop and adapt curriculum plans that align with NH Early Learning Standards which promotes open ended learning opportunities
• Manage classroom behavior effectively while encouraging independence, curiosity, and respect for nature
• Maintain detailed records of daily activities, attendance, and incident reports following safety procedures

Requirements

• Ability to lead our academic year indoor/outdoor stay and play program on Mondays 9:00-11:00, and our seasonal Forest School Fridays, 8:30-3:00 (Fall Session: 9/9/26 - 10/28/26 & Spring Session: 4/28/27 - 6/16/27).
• A minimum of Associate qualified per NH CCLU Rules
• Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including daycare or camp environments
• Strong classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques suitable for young learners
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
• Valid certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols
• Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive settings is a plus
• Background in teaching or youth programs such as tutoring, sports coaching, theater arts, or babysitting enhances suitability
• Ability to work outdoors comfortably in varying weather conditions while maintaining high energy levels and enthusiasm
• Excellent communication skills to engage children effectively and collaborate with colleagues and families
