Job Summary:
The residential Custom Apprentice will be responsible for installing residential electrical wiring, recessed lighting, and electrical component according to local NEC codes.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- None.
- Builds utility poles and digs underground trenches to carry cables.
- Install fixtures, outlets, and various electrical devices.
- Install gang boxes and ceiling boxes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Pull homeruns to dedicated areas marked by Lead electrician.
- Pull basic circuits and wire lighting.
- Load/unload tools, extension cords and materials.
- Use of chipping hammer, cut saw, basic hand tools and powered drills
- Clean job site daily
- Working knowledge of National Electric Code.
- Ability to interpret basic drawings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good work ethic and willingness to learn new methods.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum 3yrs experience for helpers in residential new installation.
- Physically able to work with heavy tools and equipment at heights.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds at a time to carry heavy cable.
- Must be able to work from lifts and extension ladders.
- Must have valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to jobsites if not assigned to a company vehicle with a Lead Electrician.
