Sprinkler Inspector

Inspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines as well as similar competitive manufacturers’ product lines How you will do it Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspections Accurately discern and document deficiencies found during an inspection Professionally represent the company at all times Complete Service Acknowledgement/inspections with proper coding through communicating devices, such as laptop computers, smartphones, and/or hardcopy Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected. Complete assigned inspections on time Perform other duties as directed Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs and be capable of performing physical labor Assist foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment Be enrolled in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program, maintaining all requirements of the Apprenticeship Standards Have a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly Qualifications What we look for High School Diploma or Equivalent 2 years of sprinkler inspection experience NICET II certification Able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes. Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals. Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage. Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs. Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements. Willing to travel out of town. Demonstrate a high level of customer service. Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times. Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly. Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements. Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test. Preferred: NICET level II or NC Sprinkler License HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $19-$40 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
