Job Status: Full-Time

Reports To: Vice President of Business Development

Location: Spring, TX (Houston metropolitan area)

Travel Required: 25%

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

POSITION SUMMARY


Our client is a privately held provider of engineered power generation solutions serving industrial and energy-sector customers. The organisation supports mission-critical infrastructure through the design, deployment, and lifecycle support of power generation systems used in demanding operating environments.


Our client is seeking an experienced and strategically minded Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives within the power generation market, with a focus on new-build equipment opportunities.


This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new client relationships while expanding existing accounts. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial judgment, industry experience, and a proven ability to develop long-term customer partnerships in technical, project-driven markets.


This individual will play a key role in shaping go-to-market strategy, driving revenue growth, and supporting long-term expansion through disciplined execution and market insight.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Lead and manage pursuit of new-build power generation opportunities.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategy in coordination with leadership.
  • Support development of marketing and business development strategy.
  • Manage and grow relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities with executive stakeholders.
  • Lead proposal development, including RFP responses and presentations.
  • Support deal structuring and pricing strategy using value-based analysis.
  • Negotiate pricing for bids and proposals where appropriate.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer drivers, and competitive activity; provide strategic insights to leadership.
  • Support positioning of the organization’s power generation solutions within target markets.
  • Collaborate with technical and operations teams to ensure smooth transition from sale to execution.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business continuity and growth.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS


  • Must successfully pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to maintain daily in-person attendance as required.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE


  • Technical degree in Power Generation required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in power generation sales or related industrial energy markets required, with a strong track record of performance.

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Self-directed with strong independent working capability.
  • Established relationships within upstream and energy-related markets preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and proposal development capability.
  • Strategic thinker with sound business judgment.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
