About the Role:

Stow Kent Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team! In this role, you’ll play an essential part in providing top-quality care to our small companion animals, exotic pets, and pocket pet patients. We're looking for an RVT who brings experience in clinical and surgical settings and excels in client communication.  Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting with diagnostic procedures, performing anesthetic monitoring, preparing and assisting in surgeries, educating pet owners, and contributing to our collaborative team environment. Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program.
• Current Ohio RVT license in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a clinical veterinary setting.
• Experience performing prophylactic dental procedures and digital dental radiographs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians in examinations and surgical procedures.
• Perform diagnostic tests, including blood work and radiography.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed.
• Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures.
• Perform prophylactic dental procedures.
• Educate pet owners on health care, nutrition, and preventive measures.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong technical abilities in veterinary procedures, which will be utilized daily when assisting in surgeries and performing diagnostic tests. Excellent communication skills are essential for effectively educating pet owners and collaborating with the veterinary team. Attention to detail is crucial when monitoring animal health and recording vital signs, ensuring accurate and timely care. Additionally, problem-solving skills will be beneficial when addressing unexpected situations during treatments. Preferred skills, such as experience in emergency care, will enhance your ability to respond effectively in high-pressure scenarios, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
