What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafe Manager position at Stovehouse?
Position Goal: To serve as the primary "face" of Charlie Foster’s, ensuring elite hospitality standards while maintaining a cohesive, high-performing service team.
1. Front-Line Hospitality & Service (Primary Duty)
- Active Service: Spend the majority of scheduled hours "on the floor," directly serving guests, preparing beverages, and providing food and wine service.
- Guest Relations: Act as the escalation point for guest needs, ensuring every visitor receives a premium Stovehouse experience.
- Quality Control: Taste-test products and monitor drink/food presentation in real-time to maintain brand standards.
2. Team Cohesion & Workflow Coordination
- Daily Direction: Coordinate daily shift schedules, shift tasks, and "side-work" to ensure the shop remains clean, stocked, and efficient.
- Standards & Compliance: Direct and ensure the consistent execution of all Stovehouse policies, safety protocols, and operational procedures among the staff.
- Team Mentorship: Model "humble leadership" by coaching teammates on service techniques and product knowledge.
- Culture Building: Promote a positive, inclusive, and professional environment, ensuring the team operates as a unified front.
- Feedback Loop: Regularly communicate team morale and operational needs to the Stovehouse Food & Beverage Manager.
3. Operational Coordination
- Inventory Oversight: Monitor stock levels of coffee, wine, food, and supplies; coordinate orders with the Food & Beverage Manager.
- Opening/Closing Procedures: Ensure the facility is secured and all operational checklists are completed to SHI standards.
- Merchandising: Maintain the shop's visual appeal, including retail displays and seasonal wine/espresso features.
Starting Pay $40,000 Annually
