Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for an Information Technology Coordinator to join our team on a Full-Time basis.
Under the direction of the Information Systems Manager, this position supports the goal of enhancing patient care and improving the efficiency of the hospital by effectively improving the hospital efficiency through the support and implementing existing and new information systems technology.
The primary responsibilities for this position include ensuring effective operations of the hospital network, desktop infrastructure, and software systems, as well as working with vendors to implement and maintain information systems. This person will provide recommendations to implement appropriate systems and innovative technology for use in increasing the overall efficiency of the hospital, working closely with members of the SSMW IHT staff.
The Information Technology Coordinator is also responsible for department-wide technical support, help desk, and operations activities. This individual will coordinate the integration and support of complex, multi-varied, and multi-level applications and network communications involving complex workstation support and project management.
Position Requirements:
- Required: Associate Degree in Information Systems or related work experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
- Professional Experience: Requires a minimum of five years of Information Technology experience with supervisory, project management, leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills demonstrated. Prefer Prior Information Systems experience in a healthcare setting or familiarity with Business and Information Technology related to healthcare. Understanding of network technology and monitoring systems, server classifications, and configurations, including Novell, Microsoft, and other vendor products. General knowledge of microcomputer, client/server operations, multi-vendor-OS network configurations including Novell, Microsoft, and other vendor products. General knowledge on multi-vendor network and systems management tools including Compaq Insight Manager. General knowledge of programming techniques and familiarities with different languages. Excellent knowledge of various desktop operating systems currently supported at the facility. Relevant expertise in cabling standards and solutions. Good knowledge of messaging products. General knowledge of client/server database backends. General product knowledge on different vendor platforms and solutions. Project leadership skills, project planning and management techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and a customer-focused problem-solver
- Special Requirements: Must be available on call for information system issues after hours
- Computer Competency: Advanced Computer competency skills are expected for this position. All Stoughton Hospital employees have e-mail access, and many use a PC to send and retrieve work e-mail; reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements.
- Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate computer projects with vendors and department managers
- Safeguard assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security
- Propose alternative information and telecommunication systems
- Coordinate and direct the work of appropriate personnel who are performing work.
- Authorize work schedules
- Prioritize project plans
- Oversee the installation of software and associated updates
- Work with IT Manager to prepare the fiscal year budget and planning
- Provides technical support for information systems and telecommunications
- Work closely with medical staff, department heads, and other employees during all phases of technology system activity.
Work Shift:
- Full-Time, 1.0 FTE
- 40 hours per week
- Scheduled Days: Monday - Friday
- Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Weekend and Holiday call rotations
- On Call 1:4 IT to support critical help desk issues at night and on weekends
