Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position includes a unique mix of healthcare and sales as an optician. Combine your fashion sense and outgoing personality. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting patients and all visitors
- Frame consultation and sales
- Reading and understanding medical and vision insurance benefits
- Lens edging, frame adjustment and repair
- Verifying glasses with lensometry knowledge
- Contact lens training
- Assisting doctors and other staff
- Checking in inventory
- Data input
- Participation in office training programs for career and self-development
- Making daily phone calls
The ideal candidate must possess:
A personable, dynamic personality with a caring nature towards helping others. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both as a team member and independently. Being detail oriented with the ability to multi-task is a must, as well as wanting to continue to learn and develop as an optician. Experience not required as we are happy to train for the right individual.
Skills and Qualifications:
- No optical experience required
- Must be willing to work towards ABO optician certification over time.
- High school diploma or Associates preferred.
- Computer skills with Mac computers are a must.
